This striking jug from Booths features the bold and vibrant Pompadour pattern, decorated with richly coloured florals in deep cobalt blue, crimson, yellow, and green, all outlined with crisp precision. Its angular paneled body and elegantly arched handle highlight the strong Edwardian influence on early 20th-century English pottery design.
The Pompadour pattern was first introduced by Booths in the early 1900s and became one of their most recognisable designs. It reflects the company’s reputation for combining durable earthenware with vivid transfer-printed patterns, often finished with hand-coloured enamels. Booths, established in Tunstall, Staffordshire in 1891, was known for producing high-quality tableware and decorative ceramics, and their pieces remain sought-after among collectors today.
