A rare set of six Edwardian dessert plates by the Ceramic Art Co. Ltd, Crown Pottery, Stoke-on-Trent — dating to c.1905. The teal green transferware pattern features dense floral and acanthus scrollwork border with Rococo cartouches on a white ground, scalloped rim.

The Ceramic Art Co. Ltd operated their Crown Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods — one of the Potteries district's lesser-documented but quality manufacturers. Pieces from this period and maker are increasingly rare, as few complete sets survive.

These plates carry significant age-related crazing throughout — a natural result of over 120 years of life — which collectors of antique ceramics will recognise as part of the authentic character of early 20th-century earthenware.
