Old Foley Trinket Plate Set

A charming three-piece serving set by James Kent Old Foley, Staffordshire, decorated with an exuberant floral and bird motif in shades of pink, yellow, green and blue. Each piece has a softly scalloped, undulating rim picked out in the characteristic green edging, giving the set a wonderfully decorative, almost garden-like quality.

The set comprises a large rectangular serving tray, a larger divided dish and a smaller rectangular dish, designed to nest together beautifully. The layered arrangement makes it especially lovely for serving sandwiches, petits fours, biscuits, nuts or other little accompaniments at tea.

James Kent established the Old Foley Pottery in Staffordshire in 1897, and the works became known for its richly decorated domestic wares. The Old Foley name continued across several decades, with later pieces carrying the familiar Old Foley, James Kent, Staffordshire, England backstamp.

A particularly pretty example of vintage Staffordshire tableware — decorative enough to display, but made to be used and enjoyed.
